The Phelps Engine Museum is a collection of homemade steam and gasoline engines, where we operate a 1" live steam railroad. Our collection includes antique snowmobiles, cars, trucks, and some off-road fun. This is an activity oriented museum as we are always running, racing, and repairing our exhibits. They were built to run!!

Model Trains

Jim Sr. made countless model engines. Starting with lead castings at 10 years old. He later made an aluminum forge and things took off! Many engines got a model boat, ice boat, or airplane to go with them. Jim Jr. builds motors and boats,nothing stationary.

The Peace River Valley R.R.was built by James Phelps Sr. in the late 60's early 70's. Originally in Harbor Heights FL. with 4 Loco's and 6 Rail Cars this 1" Live Steam R.R. now lives on 850 feet of steel in Northern N.J.
